Constructing Final Front Cover

I have used one of the photos I have taken as the main image and used the smart brush tool to create a reverse-black and white colouring so the animal masked models and background are grayscale and the retro radio is coloured.

I coloured in the eyes of the animal masks black using the pen tool to make the animal heads look more realistic.

I used a font to write the main cover line in relation to the main image which is in capitals and indie styled to suit the theme of the magazine. It is also in different shades of blue to suit the colour scheme and is big to stand out.

I have inserted a illusion like moon as my logo following the colours of my theme and using the text tool have given it a title MOON as the masthead of my magazine.

I used the text tool to insert the capital writing of the cover lines in the top left and used the shape tool to insert two circles and coloured them red to break up the cover lines. I coloured it all the writing white except for the main cover line sentence which is in red to emphasise it's important and multi purpose as the selling line.

Firstly I inserted a grainy textured background image and then used 'colourise' in Image Effects to make it lighter shade of cream.

I then inserted the different sized triangles using the 'shape' tool and rearranged to the suited position. Consecutively, I converted the shape object to an image frame and inserted the model images I had taken previously.
For the last image shown, I had to rearrange the photos within the frame in order for the model in the triangles to match up.
I filtered 4 of images to 'grayscale' through Image Effects.
With the remaining images, I have adjusted the brightness to -8 and blurred the images to 1.0 radius to give it that more mysterious, 'hazy' effect in relation to the artist's name.

I then inserted the artist's name logo image, which had been used on my contents page, to the upper right of the double page spread, as it is a major insert of text. However, I altered it slightly by blurring the image to add the effect of haziness.

I drew 3 lines which run across the double page in different directions and on occasions aline with the triangle frames and/or the text. I altered the shade of black on the two lines and changed the other line colour to a lighter blue. I also went onto Windows-Properties and chose the add an end and start arrow; a triangle and a circle.

Using the text tool I inserted the 'New Artist' bold headline and adjusted the colour, varying the shade of black as well as the type of font which is consistently 'Letter Gothic Std.'

I inserted another text frame in the lower right area of the double page spread to insert another quote from another magazine and changed the font to show its disconnection from the main text having not been taken from the 'supposed' information from an interview with 'Haze'.
I inserted an image frame for the quotation marks taken from the internet.

Having pre-wrote my article, I copied and pasted the large quantity of text into different text frames by paragraph in order to work around the triangle images. I changed the font to 'Letter Gothic Std' and changed the introduction to the article to 'bold'. I also changed the colour to light pink, of the quote that appears in the centre of the article to show its relevance.

For the background I found an old styled image and using Photoshop, filtered the image to grayscale. I inserted an image frame and opened up the grayscale background.

Then I copied and pasted the moon image from my logo on the magazines front page across the top of the page, changing the layers to make the few overlap.
I then inserted a text frame over the top of this 'banner' and changed the font to 'Letter Gothic Std', added the shadow effect, sized it to 44pt and coloured it white.
Over a period of time I have taken and gathered together a collection of photos for my contents page.

I began with inserting my main image which is the central feature of the contents page. Using a yingyang sign I found on the internet, I copied and pasted several of them onto a Word Document and grouped them to make a type of banner which borders the main image and using the rotation tool fitted fine. I inserted a text frame above the image and wrote the index for that feature. I inserted a separate text frame for the page number statement and changed the colour of the writing to a light purple. I inserted an image frame of the artists name which I had created on fontspace and using Image Effects colorised the name logo; I separately colorised the 'e'.

I inserted the 'Mammals' images on the right side of the page using an image frame and free scaled it to the size I wanted. On the bottom two I adjusted the brightness using Image Effects to 29. I copied and pasted the image from the front cover of my magazine of the 'Mammals' title logo and duplicated it by 4. I put one behind the other twice and adjusted the colour using duotone on Image Effects to a pale brown and green. I inserted a text frame above the images and using the Letter Gothic Std font in white and size 14pt, wrote the index for that feature with the main point being in a dark blue. I inserted a separate text frame for the page number statement and changed the colour of the writing to a light purple.
Using Fontspace again, I had created another subheading for the contents page and positioned the multiple writing images in the lower space of the page in the centre; I adjusted the size of each one. I created two image frames either side of the main point of the feature and inserted the sunflower image I had found on Google Images. I inserted a separate text frame for the page number statement and changed the colour of the writing to a light purple.

I made 3 different sized image frames in the bottom right area and inserted the 3 different images of the Bombay Bicycle Club concert. I adjusted the opacity of these photos in Windows>Properties to 70%. I inserted the logo of the band name which I found on Google Images and using Image Effects colorised the title to yellow and adjusted the shade to 50%. I inserted a text frame on top of the bottom image and using the Letter Gothic Std font in white and size 25pt, wrote the index for that feature. I inserted a separate text frame for the page number statement and changed the colour of the writing to a light purple.

I then created 3 image frames that overlapped in the bottom left corner of the page and inserted the same image of the beach photo 3 times. I moved the image within the frame to displace the lining of the overall image. I inserted another 2 image frames on top the feature image and inserted the article name logo I had made on Fontspace and changed the colour of the second name 'Pack' to a darker grey rather than white using the grayscale in Image Effects; I also blurred both the title images to 4.0. I inserted a text frame to the right of the image and wrote the index for that feature using the Letter Gothic Std font in white and size 14ptI inserted a separate text frame for the page number statement and changed the colour of the writing to a light purple.

Finally, I did 4 rows of 3 different sized image frames that overlapped and inserted 4 different images, 1 for each row but repeated 3 times. I inserted a separate text frame for the page number statement and changed the colour of the writing to a light purple.I inserted another text frame below the page number and wrote the index for that feature using the Letter Gothic Std font in white and size 12pt.
