Sherlock-BBC-Confronting Moriarty
Over the Shoulder-this shot is used in Sherlock when Moriarty and Sherlock are confronting each other aggressively. It makes the audience feel as if they are the characters being spoken to to feel the intensity of the conversation.
Extreme Long Shot- this shot is used in Sherlock when John and Sherlock are left in the swimming pool area alone. It is used to show the audience the situation the pair are in and how Moriarty leaves the scene.
Close Up- this shot is used in Sherlock when the red dots are lit onto Sherlock and John's bodies and Moriarty returns. This shot makes the audience feel the characters emotion of fear and panic as their lives are at risk. It creates the tension that TV Drama's intend to produce.
Close Up on an Object- this shot is used in Sherlock when Sherlock is aiming the gun at Moriarty and indecisive whether to shoot him or not. It is used to make the audience involved in the scene and to pick up the gun themselves to make the decision themselves. This shot also builds up the tension of the scene as to what will happen next.
